"Am I still in the same quote?"

Bobby quoted six or seven callers and found three records. Nothing was lost: he stayed in ONE quote and overwrote it each time. Flip the mode switch and run the same steps twice - the chrome, tokens, and copy below are lifted from production so only the proposed behavior differs.

Status semanticsA parked quote stays In Progress and resumable. Superseded is reserved for a same-client replacement (Start a new quote on the same person), which keeps the predecessor-link semantics in PEA-577 intact. No new status is introduced by this change.

Chrome, tokens, copy, and card anatomy captured from production on 2026-08-07 so only the proposed behavior reads as new. Rates are canned.

What arms the check

Arms after the first Get rates - that is when the quote record exists and overwriting starts destroying something. Before that, edit freely.

Identity fields: age or date of birth, sex, state. A change to any of them, against the snapshot taken at the last rating, opens the dialog on the next Get rates.

Not identity: face amounts, conditions, medications, tobacco. Never prompt.

The three paths

Start a new quote (primary) - parks the current quote In Progress, opens a clean surface carrying the newly typed identity values. Two records exist.

Same client, fixing a detail - updates in place, re-rates, one record. The everyday typo path.

Cancel - nothing rates, nothing changes, the edited value stays in the field.

Identity lives in the existing summary pill

Prod already floats a sticky Client Summary pill. Rather than adding a new strip, extend that pill with the quote id and an In Progress badge once a record exists. No new furniture, one obvious home for "which quote am I in."

Save & next quote

Present at both the Rates stage and the Complete Application stage (decided 2026-08-07).

Parking from Complete Application carries a name into My Quotes and must resume at that section with the plan still selected (quote-log section 12).

Parked quote = In Progress, resumable. Superseded stays reserved for same-client replacement, preserving source_quote_id (PEA-577).

No suppression, ever

No "do not ask again", no per-session mute, no preference (decided 2026-08-07). The dialog only fires on a genuine identity change, so an agent seeing it often means the trigger rules are wrong - suppression would hide exactly that signal.

Hard dependency: PEA-675. Resume rehydration is broken on both My Quotes and My Book today (a parked quote reopens blank). "Save it and come back to it" is not true until that is fixed, so this flow should not ship ahead of it.
